I grew up in Manitoba, and after graduating from medical school in Manitoba, I practised as a family doctor in rural Ontario for four years.
After completing my Neurology specialty training at McGill University in Montreal, I moved to Calgary in 1978 and have worked here as a neurologist ever since. In addition to working in general neurology, I have developed a special interest in headache disorders, including migraine, cluster headache, and headache related to head trauma. In 2003 I founded the Calgary Headache Assessment and Management Program, and was also a founding member of the Chronic Pain Centre in Calgary. I have diagnosed and treated patients with headache in both programs for many years.
I have published over 100 scientific papers, many on headache, and am currently professor emeritus at the University Of Calgary Faculty Of Medicine. I have received several awards over the years for my work in headache, including the Medal for Distinguished Service from the Alberta Medical Association, The John Edmeads Award from the Canadian Headache Society, and the John R. Graham Clinicians' Award from the American Headache Society.
I hope that I can be helpful in providing clinical assessments for patients with neurological symptoms, including headache.
