I am a graduate of McMaster University Medical School in Hamilton. I undertook Neurology specialty training at Western University in London, Ontario and the University of Alberta in Edmonton.
Starting in 1993 as an academic member of the Division of Neurology at the University of Alberta, I co-founded and co-directed the University Hospital’s Stroke Program. I was also Director of the Neurology Residency Training Program.
In 1996 I switched to full-time private practice in Edmonton which I continued until 2014. In addition to my office practice, I provided consultation services at all the regional hospitals at one time or another.
After closing my practice in 2014, I took on part time work as an independent evaluator at the Worker’s Compensation Board of Alberta. I also worked at the Urgent Neurology Clinic at the University of Alberta Hospital.
Throughout my tenure as a physician I have fully completed all required Continuing Medical Education Programs overseen by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, and participated in all required Physician Achievements Reviews undertaken by the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Alberta.
